The Atlanta Ex-NewYorkers Meetup
|
Ok, let's face it- we are not EX New Yorkers... we are simply NY Transplants living here in Atlanta ;) Meet with former New Yorkers, who are now living someplace new and would like to meet familiar people, talk of old neighborhoods or travel to the city sometime. Meet up with other NYers for all kinds of events, concerts, wine tastings, sporting events, barbecues, family days, adult days and nights out, anything fun with some other transplanted NYers who enjoy quick wit and good times!

Our next meeting:
Yankees VS Mets Game!
Ok, slight date change- I thought catching the Yankees vs Mets game would be a blast. The place we are going has a great outdoor patio for those not too interested in the game. There are a gazillion t.v.'s, pool tables, darts and a pretty good juke box for you multi-taskers! This place has great bar food including hot dogs and soft pretzels that will make you feel you are at the ballpark! Read more

-
"Katherine- Well, not really sure what one has to do with another- the pub is a bar that allows smoking, though there is a terrace where people can sit outside. The drive-in is all outdoors so, not sure what the smoking issue would be persay since I believe you sit in your own car... am I misunderstanding your question?"
-
"Hi Cat, I look forward to the 1st meetup and the subway series!"
-
"hey katherine, I think the goal (at least mine is anyway) is to be able to have all different kinds of meetups, kid friendly, adult friendly, family, casual, planned, etc. I am hoping to find a co-organizer so that we're not limited to meeting when my schedule permits- especially since a lot of kid friendly activities are not necessarily great with a 7 month old ;) anyway, keep me posted with any ideas you have or if you would like to hostess an event :)"
-
"YEAH I moved to Alpharetta and though i was gonna lose my mind so i had to get back to some kind of city life. I fly to NY (i land in Morristown airport) often in my 4 seater. leave your number or email at mrblackpilot@aol.com"

"hello, What part of NY are you from, I was born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens"
-
"I think I may have had a pretty good idea- though it's only a good idea if lots of people agree.... but I was thinking it might be lots of fun to do a meetup to go see the Sex and the City movie- we can..."
-
"Fellow New Yorkers...Now, Atlanta is not for everyone. You really have to be ready to make the adjustment. Everything is slow down here but you will live a more fulfilled life. I've been here since 1977 and don't miss NY at all. As I mention all of the time, you have to make friends and do things with people to really enjoy all that Atlanta has to offer. Why go back...move forward. If you've done NY already then make it happen for you here. It's so costly to go back and picking back up."
-
"Hey - Thanks for starting this one. I am from Brooklyn and lived in Yonkers...Looking for other NY's... Peace"
-
"Hola! Originally from Brooklyn, I've been in Atlanta for the last 3 and 1/2 years.. All of my friends have moved out of Atlanta, and I'm looking to expand my social circle here. Would love to meet fellow transplants. =)"
-
"I have lived here in atlanta since Jan.2004 have found a lot of great resturants that remind me of home. I am single and looking for that someone special. who knows maybe an ex-new yorker."
